About
Roody Souverain
Managing Partner and COO of Barthelemy Holdings, Inc., the family company that builds and runs GovDeed.
He has run teams and built businesses for more than 25 years. Now he turns good ideas into ventures that last.
What he brings
Operations
He spent 17 years at Verizon in New York. He started as a technician and rose to Local Area Operations Manager.
Team development
He led a 30 person team through the FiOS fiber rollout in New York City. He built the reports and the coaching rhythm the whole borough used.
Project and information systems
M.S. in Financial Management and Management Information Systems. Master Certificate in Project Management, Villanova University.
Business sense
He founded Hedge Consultants in 2016 and sold it in 2021. His clients stayed. More than 85% were still with him in year three.
Ideas into ventures
He helped launch and grow more than 20 local businesses in food, home services and retail. Those launches raised more than $4 million.
Multiple industries
Telecom, finance, commercial real estate at Marcus & Millichap, restaurants, travel and homes. The work changes. The habits stay the same: clear numbers, a trained team, and a plan that ships.
His real estate story
Roody's real estate story starts with a cassette tape. In 2002 he bought Carlton Sheets' No Money Down course. By 2004 he had his real estate license in Brooklyn. A year later he started an investment company that fixed and flipped houses in Philadelphia, two hours from home.
But then came 2008. He rode the boom, and he lived through the crash. He left some deals by choice, but the market forced him out of others.
That crash taught him the lesson GovDeed is built on. Hype costs you money, yet data tells the truth when someone puts it in plain words. Real estate has many roads. So in 2019 he moved to Florida to work its foreclosure and tax deed market.
Why GovDeed exists
Florida sells houses every week for unpaid tax. But the lists sit on dozens of county sites, and each one works its own way. So Roody built one calendar. Each night it reads every county that sells online. It adds the rent and value for the area, then scores each parcel and writes out why.
The companies he runs
Barthelemy Holdings, Inc. is family owned. It does not manage outside money. It builds and runs its own brands, and Roody leads them all, from software to real estate.
